Karen Hanner

Karen, a native of Southwest Georgia, grew up in the charming town of Thomasville, also known as The Rose City. She attended the University of Georgia in Athens, where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism, and was a proud member of the UGA community. After graduation, Karen worked as a reporter and anchor for eight years at WALB before transitioning to become an insurance agent with State Farm.

In 2017, Karen's personal home was hit by a severe wind event, which led her to experience State Farm's exceptional customer service firsthand. Impressed by the company's handling of her claim, Karen decided to open her own State Farm agency. Her early belief in life insurance was shaped by the loss of her father at the age of 37, leaving her mother to raise two young children alone and with limited financial resources.

Karen's agency opened on January 1, 2018, and she has since assembled a dedicated team, including Brittany and Wanda, who have been with her since the beginning. Karen is an active member of the Albany Area Chamber of Commerce, was named one of Southwest Georgia's 40 Under 40, and has received recognition as The Insurance Agent by readers of the Albany Herald.

Karen and her team offer a range of insurance services, including auto, renters, homeowners, business, and life insurance, to customers across Georgia, Alabama, Florida, and South Carolina. In addition to serving Albany/Dougherty County, they also assist customers in Dawson/Terrell, Leesburg/Lee, Camilla/Mitchell, Cairo/Grady, and beyond.

When not working, Karen and her husband Jeff split their time between Dougherty and Terrell Counties, and enjoy traveling and spending time with their family and children.
